Summer 2026

Register below!

Join us for a fun, inclusive summer art camp designed for both neurodivergent and neurotypical youth. Campers will explore creativity, build confidence, and connect with others through hands-on art in a welcoming and supportive studio environment.

Dates and Times

Week 1: August 10–14 (Nature & Elements Focus)
Week 2: August 17–21 (Nature & Elements Continued)

Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Ages: 7–14

Camp Themes

Each week builds on a nature-inspired experience with age appropriate, hands-on projects.

Nature & the Elements (Weeks 1 and 2)
Projects will be inspired by:

  • Plants, insects, and ecosystems

  • The sun, moon, and natural patterns

  • Earth-based textures and materials

Projects may include painting, mixed media, sculpture, and paper based art. Activities may be adjusted based on the needs, skill levels, and engagement of the group so each camper can feel successful and involved.

Our Approach

We use a relationship based approach when working with our neurodivergent community. This means we focus on connection first, meet each child where they are, and use art as a way to build confidence, communication, and comfort in a supportive environment.

Rather than expecting every child to follow the same path, we allow flexibility, encourage choice, and create space for each individual to engage in a way that works best for them.

We draw from Neurosemantic Language Learning Theory (NsLLT) in our approach. In simple terms, this means we pay attention to how communication, emotions, and the body work together. We support each camper in a way that feels natural and comfortable, helping build confidence, connection, and a sense of safety while they create.

Daily Flow

Each day includes a balance of structure and flexibility:

  • Welcome and creative warm-up

  • Guided art project

  • Snack and reset break

  • Continued project time

  • Open ended creativity or play area for early finishers

  • Clean up

Camp Experience

At the beginning of the week, campers will create a tie-dye camp t-shirt. Campers are welcome to wear their shirts throughout the week, but it is completely optional.

Campers will also create personalized name tags. Participation in these activities is optional.

Participation and Support

We are an inclusive space and welcome campers of all abilities. Our program is designed as a group-based experience, and we do our best to support a range of needs within that setting.

To help ensure a safe and positive experience for all campers, participants should be able to:

  • Engage in a group environment

  • Follow basic directions

  • Remain within the studio space

  • Participate in a way that is safe for themselves and others

  • Be able to use the restroom independently

At this time, we are not staffed to provide dedicated one-on-one support during camp for participants who are not already receiving services through PIE. If your child benefits from additional support, they are welcome to attend with a DSP. DSPs must be registered through our agency prior to participation.

Families who receive services through a brokerage or case manager may be able to use service hours to support participation, depending on their child’s plan. This typically requires adding PIE to the plan in advance.

Please let us know in advance if your child needs any accommodations so we can plan appropriately.

Staffing and Supervision

Each camp session includes:

  • 1 Lead Instructor

  • 1–2 additional staff (depending on enrollment)

  • 2–3 volunteers

This structure allows us to provide support while maintaining a positive, engaging group environment.

What to Bring

  • Water bottle

  • Snack for each day (No Nuts Please)

  • Comfortable clothes that can get messy

We also welcome personal supports that help your child feel comfortable and regulated, such as fidgets or sensory tools. Our team gently encourages connection and engagement, while honoring each child’s individual needs and pace.

What to Wear

Art can get messy. Please have campers wear clothing that can get paint or art materials on it. Aprons will be provided.
